Sonny Duong, DDS
Dr. Duong completed his degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), in 2010 from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA. Prior to dental school, he also received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from VCU in 2005, and his Associates Degree in Dental Lab Technology in 2001 at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. Dr. Duong has always been passionate about providing high quality and compassionate dental services to the community. He spent 12 years working in a non-profit community health center prior to joining Hilltop Dental Studio. In addition to public health, Dr. Duong has also worked in private practice settings throughout his dental career.
Dr. Duong is committed to ongoing professional learning and development in order to provide the highest quality services with up-to-date materials and techniques in order to make your dental visit comfortable and to provide the best results. His continuing education in dental implants, Invisalign, and cosmetic dentistry has given him the skills and knowledge to provide patients with comprehensive oral healthcare.
Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Duong and his family fled communist Vietnam when he was a child and relocated to southern California. Dr. Duong moved to Virginia over 25 years ago, and has lived and worked in Virginia ever since. Dr. Duong has a variety of interests outside of dentistry including fishing, mountain biking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his wife and two sons. Dr. Duong is known among his friends for his gourmet cooking and loves to host multiple course meals for his friends and family.
One little known fact about Dr. Duong is that he used to be a nail technician. He spent years working in Richmond, where he was encouraged to get a dental education by one of his long term client who was working in the dental profession.
